Meet the Pastors
Tamarindo Church is led by teaching pastors who love Jesus, love people, and care deeply about faithful biblical teaching.
Juan Manuel Lopez Palacios
Teaching PastorJuan Manuel Lopez Palacios was born in Buenos Aires and has been living in Costa Rica since 2005. Married to his beloved wife, María Luisa, he is a passionate follower of Jesus Christ that finds joy in reading God’s Word, spending time in nature with his wife, cooking, and staying active through sports. He’s been serving as teaching pastor, alongside Andy, since July 2021.
Andy Ahrens
Teaching PastorAndy Ahrens was born in Oregon City, Oregon. In 2001 Andy moved to Redding, California, for Bible college, where he met his wife, Lydia. After starting and operating businesses in online retail and property development, the family relocated to Tacoma, WA, where Andy attended seminary. In 2012, the Ahrens family moved to Tamarindo, Costa Rica, where they became part of the newly planted Tamarindo Church. In 2021, Andy began serving as a Teaching Pastor at Tamarindo Church alongside Juan. Andy and Lydia have three children: Colson, Liam, and Adalyn.

From Tamarindo Beach
We are located on the main road in and out of Tamarindo. As you leave town drive about 1.5 miles and keep your eyes out on the left for our church sign. We are located just 200 mts. before the entrance to the Tamarindo airport.
Uber / Taxi Service: If you are staying in Tamarindo, a cab or Uber ride to church should cost only four to six dollars (2,000-3,000 colones). Our worship lasts about 1 hour 15 mins, so you can let your Taxi Driver know they can pick you up at 11:30am.
From Other Beach Areas
As you are driving in on the main road toward Tamarindo, you will see a small entrance for the Tamarindo Airport on your right. Drive past the airport entrance / driving range and you will see our church sign about 200 meters further on the right.
Our worship lasts about 1 hour 15 mins, so you can let your Taxi Driver know they can pick you up at 11:30am.
