Hey friends,
 Looking back over the past month… I have to admit it was a tough one. For those of you who aren’t here with us locally, I was “out” for two Sundays of this past month dealing with some kind of sickness that kept me from preaching. I was able to come to church, but in no shape for sermon prep on those weeks. In addition to that, Stacey was out with a very painful stomach infection. Not cool. We are better now, but boy… that was not fun. Fortunately one of our church members, Steve Page, jumped in to preach for me on one of the Sundays. And on the other Sunday, we heard a very inspiring video sermon from Francis Chan on courage. Thank you Steve! And thank God for modern technology and sermon video downloads! And thank you to those who were praying for us!
As we look ahead to the month of September, we’ve got a lot happening. This Friday night, Sept. 2nd, we will be holding our Comedy Night Fundraiser for Las Playas Food bank & The Mercies of God rehab ministry. Thank you to those of you who have confirmed attendance! Spots are filling up quickly so, for those of you who haven’t confirmed yet, please email us to let us know we can count you in. In addition, next week we will be heading out on our annual men’s retreat. We will be going to Corcovado this year. We leave on Monday and coming back on Thursday. Three spots left if you want to jump in!! It’s going to be a great week. Please keep us your prayers for safety, and for openness to whatever God would speak to us in the time. And lastly, later in the month we will be kicking of a six-week Parenting Course held on Thurday nights. Hey… we only get one shot at raising our kids right. And if you’re like me, I’ll take all the parenting tips I can get. This series is packed with practical tips and wisdom from parents who have “been there”. We hope some of you parents can join us. MEN’S RETREAT- CORCOVADO
September 5-8th
 Next month we will be headed to Corcovado, Playa Matapalo for our 2016 men’s retreat. The dates for the trip are September 5-8. During our time there, we will be using video conferences from the 2016 No Regret’s men’s conference for our learning and discussion times together. In addition… we will be getting plenty of “bro-time” in the surf, snorkeling, spearfishing and hiking. Cost to attend is $225/person which includes all meals and transportation. PIZZA FELLOWSHIP

 Join us on Sunday the 18th after Church for hanging out, pizza, and a swim in the pool at Monkey Bar/Tamarindo Best Western Vista Villas. This is a great opportunity to connect with others in the church in a way that we just don’t get to do on Sunday’s after church service. Don’t forget your bathing suit and towel. PARENTING COURSE
Begins September 22nd
Family life is under great pressure today and parents face bewildering choices about how to parent effectively. Discovering we are not alone in the challenges we face and picking up ideas from other parents can make a huge difference. We can all learn how to make even the happiest family better.
COURSE INFORMATION
- Dates: Thursday nights from Sept 22nd through Oct 20.
- Time: 6-8pm
- Cost: $30 per adult ($60/couple) includes five sessions + dinner at each session. If you need childcare, cost will be and additional $15 per child which covers child care & a meal for all five sessions

We are VERY grateful for the donations that have been made so toward the property purchase and construction of a church and children’s ministry area. Please continue in prayer with us: 1. In thanks to God that he has given us an opportunity to secure a lot for a great price at a great location. 2. That the property would be freed from the lien against it. 3. If for some reason this is not the property God would have for us, that he would direct us to another property. 4. God would continue to meet our financial needs for this project.
